Integration into ongoing activities

Important elements of this project (theme, activities and results) will be included in the curriculum of each participating institution.

Thus, most of the partner institutions will be able to include/build on this project within tourism or vocational subject classes such as:

a. The organization of activities within tourism units: In the chapter about “Touristic sites of local interest” students can deepen notions about rural attractions-cultural and artistic events in the area, ethnography and folklore, gastronomy.

b. In the “Hotel Services” module, the “Customer Communication” chapter

c. In the ” Organization of a Travel Agency” chapter students will be able to create touristic offers entitled “Places/Villages, traditions and customs” for their virtual firms

d. Within the module entitled “The design of touristic products” students will design theme products starting from the elements of folklore specific to each rural area.

Schools which teach business and economy will include the project in the subjects such as marketing and entrepreneurship.

There is a huge potential for learning languages, not just English as a means of communication between the students, but other languages spoken in the partner countries. It will give learning a real, communication purpose.

This project can be included in the Advice and Guidance classes, conducted by form teachers, or in extracurricular activities.

Inspired by the workshops of the project, seven schools in Europe will lay the foundation for similar workshops / group activities: painting icons on glass, photography / digital processing.

As far as the languages and ICT objectives are concerned, this project fit with the curriculum objectives (Content and Language Integrated Learning) in each school.

The project will also be integrated into the curriculum of subjects such as: Geography, Literature, Art, Philosophy (European system of values).

The aim is to extend cultural awareness through History, Music, Dance, Foreign languages and the Mother tongue.

With this experience, various similarities and differences can be found among different cultures.

Finally, the global European dimension is a key point in all our school’s projects. This project and the activities planned will extend the European dimension of each school and raise awareness of being a European citizen.

The goal that will be achieved is the awareness of the European identity – more knowledge and respect for diversity.
